EVELEIGH,Joseph EVELEIGH, an old and respected citizen of this city, died at his home on Friday, January 15th, 1892, age 80 years, 6 months and 23 days. Mr. Eveleigh was one of the early settlers of this county, having come to Bloomfield in 1838. He was born in County Wexford, Ireland, in the year 1811, and emigrated to Montreal, Canada, twenty seven years afterward. He was married to Joanna SHAW August 19, 1940. To them were born seven children, only two of whom are now living, R. E. EVELEIGH, our popular and well known druggist, and Mrs. Robt. GREEVES, of Bloomington. Deceased was a member of the Episcopal church, having been confirmed before leaving his native county. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. C. COCKRUM, of the C. P. church, and were very impressive. Beside the casket sat the "old arm chair," in which Uncle Joe had so frequently rested, tastefully draped by loving hands, who will ever cherish his memory. But his life on earth is over. The end has come. May he rest in peace.
