ROURKE, Robert "Bob" Stanley - Wednesday, February 18th at the age of 76 of brain cancer, at the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce. He chose to live through his illness with grace and valour. Bob will be deeply missed by wife Peggy Richardson of Leith and children Neal (Rose) of Desboro, Jenny Robinson (Robbie) of Sauble Beach, Kara McCluskie (Brian) of Owen Sound and Andrew (Lisa) of Kitchener. Also survived by step-children Tracey Peifer (Blake Dawson) of London, Jackie Peifer of Oakville and Jeff Peifer (Linda) of Vancouver. Fondly remembered by 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Former husband of Janet Hoyt (John) of Owen Sound. Predeceased by his parents Eleanor (Kreutzweiser) and Stanley Rourke, daughter-in-law Laura Rourke (Rempel) and grandson Brendan Rourke. Bob was a well loved and respected educator for 32 years with the Grey County Board of Education, as well as an accomplished musician, avid golfer and fisherman. The family would like to thank CCAC, Shannon Yeo RN, Anne Becks RN, Dr. Hildegard Huff and the compassionate team at the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce for their care and support. Visitation at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME , 250-14th St. W., Owen Sound on Thursday, February 26th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will take place at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness Club on Friday, February 27th at 2pm. Spring interment in Leith United Church Cemetery. Donations in honor of Bob may be made through the funeral home to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce or the OSCVI Musical Instrument Procurement Fund.
